Official tags name UTV and ATV on purpose. Official night media is almost a UTV commercial: two-seat buggies, roof LED bars, tall green whip lights, splash, a pickup trying to keep up. Official dune media puts a blue ATV next to a trophy truck as a scale reference and a scout.
S — Lit UTV (side-by-side)
Why S. In a game without voice chat on the public listing, a vehicle that carries its own lighthouse is the group tool. Green or purple whips read through trees. Two seats let a friend ride while they learn controls. Width fits the Whip Light Line on routes and map. Water still requires discipline — see off-road tips — but the chassis is the one the developers photographed in the splash.
Why not the only vehicle you own. Dune crests that a Raptor-style truck floats will toss a UTV. Plaza posing is possible but you will look like you brought a race toy to church. Own an SUV too.
Play it. Lights on at dusk even if you can still see. Lead only if you will wait. Do not take a trailer unless the studio explicitly lets UTVs tow and you have already practiced on cobbles.
A — UTV without a light kit
If the garage sells a naked cage, it is A in daylight and B after dark. You can follow someone else’s whips. You cannot lead. In a 15-player server someone has to be visible; do not make that problem worse. Spend on bars before you spend on extra liveries.
B — Sport ATV
The blue quad in the sand still is joy. ATVs are B as a main and A as a tool.
As a tool: scout a river, check a dune backside, un-stick a path, then hand the route back to trucks. That is how you play with friends without blocking them.
As a main: you will be late to every plaza meetup, you will not tow, and a single bump sends you into a cactus. Fine for a fifteen-minute goof after getting started. Poor for a one-hour mixed convoy.
C — ATV plus trailer fantasies
If the game even allows it, stop. Quads are not tow vehicles. C-tier is “this plan fights the chassis.”
Convoy roles
A clean mixed group looks like this:
- UTV lead with the brightest whips.
- SUV or pickup mid-pack with passengers.
- Trophy truck only if the next biome is sand; otherwise it stays in town.
- ATV far forward or far back, never in the middle of a rut the trucks must use.
If the ATV sits in the middle, the trucks brake, the UTV rear-ends someone, and the night trail becomes a parking lot. Rank is also etiquette.
Lights, again
We will sound repetitive because the stills are repetitive. Roof bars and whip antennas are the visual language of The Cosalazo 2. A UTV with dead lights is a worse teammate than a slower SUV with a bar. When you open vehicle compare, sort by “can friends see me at night” before you sort by vibes.
After a patch
Roke Studio’s is adding vehicles. If a crawler UTV or a utility quad with a bed appears, it may steal S for logistics. Until a still or a group post proves it, do not rank rumors. Check updates and the Roke Studio’s wall.
